BERLIN (AP) — Granit Xhaka's early goal proved to be the difference as Bayer 04 Leverkusen defeated FC Kaiserslautern 1-0 in the final of the DFB-Pokal on Saturday, completing a domestic double for the Bundesliga champions.

Xhaka scored with a left-footed shot from outside the box in the 8th minute, and Leverkusen held on for the victory despite some late pressure from Kaiserslautern.

The win gives Leverkusen its first DFB-Pokal title since 1993 and its first major trophy since winning the Bundesliga in 2011.
