Seminoles Reach 10 Wins After Comeback Thriller

Tallahassee, Fla. - The Florida State Seminoles are back in the win column after a thrilling 64-60 victory over the Florida Gators, on Thursday night at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center. FSU overcame a 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter to secure the win and improve to 10-2 on the season.
FSU was led by sophomore forward Ta'Niya Latson, who scored a game-high 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Redshirt senior Taylor O'Brien added 14 points, and sophomore guard Makayla Timpson chipped in with 11 points.
The Seminoles forced 19 turnovers and converted them into 23 points. They also outrebounded the Gators 39-35, including 14 offensive rebounds.
The win is FSU's third straight over Florida and improves their record to 10-2 all-time against the Gators in Tallahassee.

"I thought our kids showed a lot of grit and determination. We got down by 13, but we didn't give up. We kept fighting," said Coach Shannon Dawson.
ON THE IMPORTANCE OF THE WIN:
"This is a big win for us," Dawson said. "It's a rivalry game, and it's always good to get a win over Florida. But it's also a big win for us in terms of our goals. We want to win the ACC Championship and make a run in the NCAA Tournament. This win shows that we're capable of competing with the best teams in the country," said Coach Dawson.
ON TA'NIYA LATSON'S PERFORMANCE:
"Ta'Niya is a special player," Dawson said. "She's so versatile and she can score in so many different ways. She's a tough matchup for any team." Ta'Niya Latson is averaging 16.5 points per game and 11 rebounds per game this season.
ON THE TEAM'S DEFENSE:
"Our defense was great tonight," Dawson said. "We forced 19 turnovers and held them to under 40% shooting. That's the kind of defense we need to play if we want to win games," said Coach Dawson.
ON THE TEAM'S MENTAL TOUGHNESS:
"I'm really proud of the way our team fought tonight," Dawson said. "We got down by 13, but we didn't give up. We kept fighting and we found a way to win. That shows a lot of mental toughness," said Coach Dawson
The Seminoles will be back in action on Sunday, June 4th at 1 p.m. ET when they host the UAB Blazers. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
