Royals Drop Fourth Straight Amidst Injury News

Erceg, Pasquantino Exit Game Early

The Kansas City Royals' struggles continued on Tuesday night as they dropped their fourth straight game, this time to the Houston Astros by a score of 6-2.

The game was marred by injuries to two key Royals players: catcher Lucas Erceg and first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino.

Erceg left the game in the third inning after being hit by a pitch on his left hand. X-rays were negative, but Erceg is considered day-to-day with a contusion.

Pasquantino exited the game in the sixth inning with a left knee injury. He is also considered day-to-day.

Royals Offense Struggles

The Royals offense struggled to generate much against Astros starter Luis Garcia, who allowed just one run on four hits over six innings.

The Royals did manage to score a run in the seventh inning on a sacrifice fly by Nicky Lopez, but that was all they could muster.

The Astros, meanwhile, scored six runs off Royals starter Kris Bubic, who lasted just 3 1/3 innings.

Royals Fall to 16-33

The loss drops the Royals to 16-33 on the season, the worst record in the American League.

The Royals will try to snap their losing streak on Wednesday night when they host the Astros again.
